Step-by-Step Guide to Using CourseGuard:

This guide explains how to set up and use CourseGuard to securely deliver and access course content on Windows and Mac, ensuring protection against piracy and unauthorized sharing.

Enable CourseGuard in Learnyst Admin Dashboard

Log in to the Learnyst Admin Dashboard.

1. In the left menu, navigate to the Add-ons section.
2. Select CourseGuard.
   
   

Purchase CourseGuard Licenses

CourseGuard is a premium security feature designed to prevent content piracy. Before enabling it, you need to purchase licenses based on your requirements.

• Click Purchase to check the pricing plan.
  
  
• Choose & Purchase a pricing plan that fits your needs.
  
  
• Select a payment method and complete the purchase.
  
  
• After a successful payment, you will get the order details.
• Click GO TO DASHBOARD to return to the CourseGuard page.
  
  

Add Courses to CourseGuard

• Click on the Dashboard to manage CourseGuard settings.
  
  

• Add encrypted courses by clicking the Products button.
  
  
• Click + Add Products to manage your courses.
  
  
• Select the courses you want to secure and click ADD PRODUCT
  
  

Manage Course Privacy Settings

Once your courses are added to CourseGuard, you can manage privacy settings:

1. Click Settings to adjust general privacy options.
2. For individual courses, click the Settings button next to each course.
   
   

CourseGuard Settings

CourseGuard provides three key settings:

1. App Settings

• Allow learners to access course content via Widevine DRM (less secure) or PlayReady (more secure).
• Set Offline Content Playback Duration (in hours) to define how long learners can access offline content before requiring an internet connection for security verification.
• Click Save to apply changes.
  
  

2. Play Settings

Choose where learners can access your course content:

1. CourseGuard Desktop App Only
2. Mobile App Only
3. Browser Only
4. Click Save to apply changes.
   
   

3. Content Settings

Control how learners access your course:

1. Online only
2. Offline only
3. Both online & offline
4. Click Save to apply changes.
   
   

Student Experience

After purchasing a CourseGuard-enabled course, students will see a popup notification with a download link for the CourseGuard desktop app (available for Windows & Mac).

To access the course securely, students need to:

1. Download and install the CourseGuard app.
2. Log in using their Learnyst credentials.
