Students learn better when your course contents are presented in meaningful segments rather than as a big continuous unit.

For ex: if you have an online academy focused on engineering subjects, wouldn't it look great if your products were organized like in the below image?

The latest segments and sub-segments feature lets you create more coherent, learner paced courses that your students will love.

In this article, let us explore this new feature & see how you can use the segments to deliver courses effectively.

Note: If you have multiple subschools or a lot of courses, the segments feature will be a great helping hand to you.

So, let us get started with creating the segments. This is what we will be covering

How to Create The Segments

To create segments, go to Dashboard>Manage>Segments

Inside the segments, click on create segments

Give a segment a name and description. Click create to create a segment.

Within segment, you can create subsegments or add products directly. Let us see how to do each one of them

How To Add Sub Segments

For ex: If I am preparing my students for multiple UPSC exams like IAS, IPS, IFS, I can create a sub segments for each one under the main UPSC exam.

After you add the sub segments, you can add the products within the sub segments.

How To Add Products & Categories

In case, you don't want separate sub segments, you can simply add products.

There are 2 types of products you can add:

  • individual mocktests, courses, test series, bundles
  • categories or groups of mock tests, courses, testseries or bundles

How to Add Individual Mock-tests, Courses, Test series, Bundles

First click on add products and select the products option

For ex: To add all UPSC related products, type UPSC and select all products.

Once you have added the products, click on publish to make your segment live.

Note: You can add courses, mocktests, test series and bundles as products

How to add categories/ group of products

You can add categories ( ie: groups of products or courses) into your segments.

Click on add products and select the categories option

For ex: I can create a segment Public Service exams and add the entire products from 2 categories.

Once you have added the categories, you can click on publish to make the segment live.

Now that you have created and published your segments, you need to click on enable on the top right corner to make it visible to your learners.

After you enable the segments, click on the settings and select one of these options.

Selecting the allow learners option will enable learners to select any segments they want.

So, for ex: learners will be able to see UPSC exam and Public Service Exams.

Select switch segments, if you want to allow your learners to switch between segments.

As soon as I enable the settings, learners will be able to see the segments in your academy like in the screenshot below.
