Previously, you needed to activate and configure Zoom add-ons in order to run Zoom Live classes on Learnyst.

But now, Zoom is integrated directly into Learnyst. So, you can conduct Zoom LIVE classes without any additional configuration or Zoom license.

Therefore, we are no longer supporting Zoom add-ons.

But don't worry, if you have already configured Zoom add-ons, you can still run Live classes. But in the future, we will be supporting the Learnyst Live Add-ons.

You can use your Zoom meetings and webinars now on Learnyst. In this article, let me show you the steps.

First, I will show you how to use Zoom meetings. You can follow the similar steps to integrate your Zoom webinars as well.

Here's what we will cover:


How to Use Zoom Meetings on Learnyst

  • Log in to your school URL using your user id and password

  • Next, the dashboard opens up. Here, go to Contents and select Courses

  • To create a course, click on the Create button

  • Add Course Details like name, price and click Create

  • Next, add a section within your course

  • Now, select the Lesson - Live Video

  • Live lesson window opens up. Select Live Lesson Source as Zoom meeting

  • Next, set up a start time, duration & other Zoom settings for your live class

  • Scroll down the left sidebar and save the Live lesson

  • Next, go back to course maker and select the Publish Status

  • It will open the course settings. Now, change the publish status to Live & click Next Step

  • Finally, Publish the course to make it accessible on learner side

How to Use Zoom Webinars on Learnyst

  • To create a Zoom Webinar, you can select the Lesson - Live video

  • Add live video to a course section and select Zoom webinar from the drop down menu

  • Next, set up a start time, duration & other Zoom settings for your live class

  • Scroll down the left sidebar and save the Live lesson

  • Next, go back to course maker and select the Publish Status

  • It will open the course settings. Now, change the publish status to Live & click Next Step

  • Finally, publish the course to make it accessible on learner side


How to Start a Zoom Meeting or Webinar as an Admin

Starting a Zoom Meeting

  • Go to the Zoom meeting you have created, & click on Open Live Class to start the live class

  • You will now be able to Launch the Meeting

  • The Zoom app opens and you can switch-on your video or microphone just like in a normal Zoom meeting

Starting a Zoom Webinar:

  • Add live video to a course section and select zoom webinar from the drop down menu

  • Admin can start a Zoom webinar by clicking on the Open Live class option

  • The interface will look like this

  • After completing the LIVE class, the admin can end the LIVE class meeting

Note: The LIVE class recordings will be auto uploaded to Learnyst after the meeting completion.


How Learners Attend Zoom LIVE Meetings or Webinars

Zoom Meetings:

  • Learners can go to your school URL and login with their learner account

  • From learner dashboard, learners can see the upcoming live classes

  • Learners can click on the live class & it will open the lesson player to join the live class

  • Learners can click on Join now and it will open zoom live class. They can attend the live class, chat and also use zoom features

Zoom Webinar:

  • Similarly, Learners can join the live webinar. The zoom interface for webinar will be displayed accordingly to the learners
