# Move the courses, sections, and lessons to the Trashcan

## The Trashcan feature gives admins more flexibility and control in managing products. Similar to how a Recycle Bin works, you can now move products to the Trashcan instead of deleting them immediately.

### How it works:

- Any course, section, or lesson moved to the Trashcan can be restored within **7 days**.
- After **7 days**, the item is permanently deleted automatically.
- Admins can also choose to permanently delete items immediately without waiting for the retention period.

This feature was introduced to provide an additional layer of safety and help prevent accidental product deletion.

- Products do not need to be unpublished before moving them to the Trashcan.
- When a course is restored, it returns in an **unpublished state** by default.
- All associated learner progress is restored along with the course.
- Currently, Trashcan is available **only for Courses**. It is not supported for Mock Tests, Test Series, Bundles, Batches, or other product types.

### You can use Trashcan in three Levels:

#### Course Level:

- To move a course to the Trashcan, navigate to the desired course from the admin dashboard.
- Click **Manage** and select **Move to Trash**.

- Select the course(s) you want to move and click **Move to Trash**.

- In the confirmation popup, click Move to Trash again.

- The selected course will be moved to the Trashcan and can be restored within 7 days.

#### Section Level

- To move one or more sections to the Trashcan, open the desired course.
- Click **Select Content**.

- Select the section(s) you want to move and click Move to Trash.

When a section is selected, all lessons within that section will be automatically selected.

- In the confirmation popup, click **Move to Trash** again.

- The selected sections and their lessons will be moved to the Trashcan.

#### Lesson Level

- To move specific lessons to the Trashcan, open the desired course \>\> section.
- Click Select Content.

- Select the lesson(s) you want to move and click Move to Trash.

- In the confirmation pop-up, click Move to Trash again.

- The selected lessons will be moved to the Trashcan.

#### Restore Content from Trashcan

- To restore a course, section, or lesson from the Trashcan, navigate to Admin Dashboard → Trash.
- Select the appropriate tab based on the content type you want to restore.

- Click the three-dot menu beside the item and select Restore.

- In the confirmation pop-up, click Restore.

#### Role permissions

- Access to the Trashcan feature is available for the following admin roles:
  
    - Super Admin
    - Root Admin
    - Content Admin
    - Content Admin Plus
- Custom roles can also access the Trashcan if the following permissions are enabled:
  
    - Create & Manage Products
    - Publish & Delete Products
    - Manage Trash
