Avoid Apple’s 30% Commission on iOS In-App Purchases
According to Apple’s policy, if learners purchase a course directly through your iOS app, Apple will deduct a 30% commission from the course fee. This can significantly impact your revenue.
However, there are simple ways to bypass this commission while staying within Apple’s guidelines and keeping your full revenue.
1. Use the Newsfeed Feature
- You can create a post in your Learnyst Newsfeed and share the checkout link of your course or product.
Do not use words like “Buy” or “Purchase”. Instead, use neutral terms such as “Explore” or “Learn More".
- This way, learners can explore the link and complete the purchase outside the iOS in-app system.
2. Create a Free Course with Checkout Links
- Another option is to create a free course on Learnyst. Inside the course, you can upload a PDF file containing the checkout links for your paid products.
- Learners can view the PDF, click the links, and purchase the product directly, again avoiding Apple’s in-app purchase commission.
