On the Learnyst platform, you can collect learners' information that is important for your business's success with the custom field feature
- To collect learner information, first log in as an administrator and navigate to Websites & Apps > Sign Up Settings.
- Now click Custom Fields.
- On this page, you can choose what type of information you want from your student.
- We have created some commonly used fields, such as name, email, mobile number, and country. Hover over and click the Add field button to add this field in your form.
- If you wish to create a new field, click on the Create New Field button.
- You'll land on this page. Now, input the field name. I entered as Gender here.
- Then choose the Field Type.
- We have five field kinds.
- Text - If you pick the text option, learners will only input alphabets in that box. You can set a minimum and maximum letter limit. For example, the name.
- Numeric - If you pick the Numeric option, your students will be able to enter only numbers in that field. For example, a mobile number.
- Drop Down: In this choice, the student will pick one item from the dropdown. For example, a country's name. then enter the options and click the Add Option button
- Date - In this box, the student can pick a date. You can change the date interval period. For example, date of birth.
- Radio - In this choice, the student will pick one of the choices (similar to MCQ).
- When you've found the right one, enter the placeholder text. For example, I typed as Select the Gender.
- In the error message area, type the warning message. When your student enters an invalid answer, this notice appears. (Only for Text, numeric, date field)
- Then enter the mandatory or other option.
- Is Field Mandatory: If you pick the "Is Field Mandatory" option, your students must submit an answer. Otherwise, they cannot submit the form.
- Enable Field: If you choose this option, there will be no more mandatory fields. Learners can submit the form even if they do not fill out every field.
- Disable Editing - With this option, the learner can see the field but not enter an answer. Then, pick the field's significance.
You can choose more than one option.
- After you've customised the field, select the Create New Custom Field button.
- Now come back and In the field, you can set the number of times people can skip this form and proceed to the next page. For example, I've entered 3. So, my learners can skip this form three times and proceed to the next page. This is the fourth time they must submit this form. Otherwise, they will be unable to reach their learner page.
- Once you have entered all the required data, click the Save Changes button.
- Then, click the Enable button. Now, only your learners will be able to see this form when they sign in.
- Once you've customised and enabled custom fields, your students will be able to view and fill them out after signing in.
