Manage CourseGuard Settings

This article explains how to configure the settings for your courses, including access controls, app preferences, and offline content options.

Log in to the Learnyst Admin Dashboard.

1. In the left menu, Navigate to the Add-ons section.
2. Select CourseGuard.

• Click on Plan & Usage to monitor the pricing plan and the usage of licenses.
• Click on Dashboard to manage your CourseGaurd settting.

Once your courses are added to CourseGuard, you can manage privacy settings:

1. Monitor Available and Consumed Licenses.
2. Click Settings to adjust general privacy options.
3. For individual courses, click the Settings button next to each course.

CourseGuard Settings

CourseGuard provides three key settings:

1. App Settings

• Allow learners to access course content via Widevine DRM.
• Set Offline Content Playback Duration (in hours) to define how long learners can access offline content before requiring an internet connection for security verification.
• Click Save to apply changes.

Play Settings

You can decide where your students can access the course:

• Desktop App Only: Students can only view the course on their computers using the CourseGuard desktop app.
• Mobile App Only: Students can only access the course on their phones or tablets via the mobile app.
• Browser Only: Students can only watch the course in their browser, not through the app.
• After selecting your choice, click Save to apply the changes.

Content Settings

You can choose how students can access the course content:

• Online Only: Students need an internet connection to access the course.
• Offline Only: Students can download and watch the course offline, but they need the app for viewing.
• Both Online & Offline: Students can access the course either online or offline.
• Once you decide, click Save to apply the settings.

Student Experience

After purchasing a CourseGuard-enabled course, students will see a popup with a download link for the CourseGuard desktop app (available for both Windows and Mac).

To access the course securely, students need to:

1. Download and install the CourseGuard app.
2. Log in with their Learnyst credentials to start the course.
